The Scottish Traditional Boat Festival was to be cancelled – a freak storm had exhausted 17 years of financial reserves. 15,000 visitors bring a £1.4 million economic benefit to rural north-east of Scotland. Aberdeen Asset Management stepped in to save the festival with a sponsorship package of cash and commitment to deficit fund for 3 years if required.
